Introduction

It is the mission of the Journal of Emergency Primary Health Care (JEPHC) to publish original research articles, case studies, critical reviews, educational, technological and informative issues relevant to national and international aspects of prehospital emergency care. Consideration will be given to publish submitted articles according to the significance of their innovative, educational, informative or collaborative contributions towards the advancement of prehospital emergency care.

Initial evaluation of all manuscripts will be assessed by the Editor(s) to determine suitability for publication in JEPHC. A process of peer review by appropriately qualified professionals will follow the Editor's approval to determine quality and synthesis of submitted articles, prior to publication. Acceptance of a manuscript for publication is possible only after completion of the editing process. Every author whose name appears on the manuscript is responsible for all statements published in the article, including any changes made in the editing process. The author whose name appears as the corresponding author, will receive a copy of the final edited version of the article to circulate to co-authors and obtain joint approval (if applicable) prior to publication in the ejournal.

Submission of Manuscripts

Contributors are encouraged to follow the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals http://www.icmje.org. The document provides useful information to authors, reviewers, editors and general readers, in many aspects of ethical, technical and formatting principles which should be applied to manuscripts prior to submission and publication in any medical journal.

Copyright

JEPHC will adopt a modern copyright policy, promoted by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), whereby the copyright of articles published will remain with the author(s) of the articles. Authors will licence JEPHC to publish their articles.

Ethics

Where manuscripts refer to the investigations involving humans, proof of clearance from an institutional ethics committee must accompany the assignment of copyright letter.
