Chris Lemmer

 

Chris is currently Chief Executive Officer of SA Ambulance Service. Prior to this, he has held the positions of Deputy Chief Executive; Director of Country Operations, being responsible for the operation of paid and volunteer services in country areas; and Director of Operations for the metropolitan area which handles in excess of 100,000 cases per annum and operates separate emergency and non-emergency services. In this position he was also responsible for the provision of state communications. Other senior appointments include Manager Finance & Administration and Corporate Analyst.

Chris has been involved with the ambulance service in South Australia for 36 years since commencing as a volunteer ambulance officer in 1968. He commenced full time in the Service in 1975 in the role of Assistant Accountant. He is a member of several committees, within the Service and within the government sector, including chairmanship of the State Rescue Helicopter Service.

Chris has a strong strategic focus and is committed to best practice and continuous improvement. He believes that these can be achieved only through a culture that encourages personal development and within an organisation that recognises the value of investing in the education of its people.
