Brenda is the Head of School for Auckland University of
Technology's dynamic School of Paramedic and Emergency Specialties.
Brenda's enthusiasm for Paramedic and Emergency Management
education is contagious. She has a long successful track
record teaching Advanced Paramedics in NZ and has been one
of the key, academic developers at the Auckland University
of Technology credited with moving Paramedic education from
diploma to degree level.
Brenda is presently studying toward a Master of Health
Science. Her research areas of interest include: injury
severity assessment; the effectiveness of assessing Paramedic
clinical reasoning with high fidelity clinical simulation
compared with use of a viva voce; comparison of patterns
of injury in two NZ ski-fields; and disaster recovery, ways
in which to promote community resilience after catastrophic
events.
